Sea of Stars: Sun and moon by the sea

The seaside is a desirable place, especially at night, where the sun, moon and stars have their unique charm. The blue sea water glimmers faintly under the moonlight, as if it were an endless ocean of gemstones. The waves on the beach keep crashing against the shore, creating a pleasant sound that complements the starry sky above.Oil painting is a highly comprehensive form of artistic creation. When depicting the sea and sky, it is necessary to paint based on what one sees. Transforming natural landscapes into artistic designs requires great skill.

First, let's prepare the painting material. The canvas we need can be medium size, suitable for hanging in the living room or study at home. Get plenty of blue series oil paints, including dark blue, sky blue, lake blue and white. For stars, we can decorate them with white and silver paint. Don't forget the blend of blue and white, and the gray and black used to represent the waves. Other tools include brushes, palettes, thinners, cleaning cloths, and more.

Before we start painting, we need to base the canvas. To better bring out the blue tone, we can first paint the entire canvas with lake blue mixed with a small amount of white to create the feeling of falling night. Next, we need to consider the position of the light source, making sure that the moon is in the right position and that the surrounding blue depth is in harmony with it. Usually, the light of the moon is warm and soft, and we can apply the moon with a mixture of white and the lightest lake blue to make it appear soft and textured on the canvas.

When depicting the stars, be sure to use the stippling technique, dip the brush in a small amount of silver or white and dot the blue sky to create the effect of twinkling stars. It should be noted here that the size and density of stars are different, and can not be too uniform, and try to simulate the natural state of stars in the sky. At the same time, we can choose several positions to draw larger stars to enhance the visual sense of the picture.

Next comes the seawater section, which is an important bridge between the sky and human vision. When painting seawater, we should pay attention to its fluidity and reflectance. We can use the method of alternating cold and warm tones, using lake blue and white to mix light water, and then dye the shadow part of the wave through gray and black dots, in order to create the feeling of waves. When painting the sea, we also need to capture the reflection of the moon on the sea, which is a beautiful blue and white interweaving effect.

If you are a beginner, this process may encounter some difficulties, but don't be discouraged. Oil painting needs time to perfect, slowly adjust the colors, to feel the fusion and contrast between the colors. When you make a mistake, you can overwrite or repaint with the remaining color on the canvas until you are satisfied with the picture. After completing the sea and starry sky, the whole picture is basically formed, and the final work is to deal with the details: to ensure that the foam of the waves is three-dimensional enough, the outline of the moon is clear and soft, and the stars shine and rhythm. At this time, standing in front of your work, it seems that you can hear the sound of the waves and feel the breath of the sea of stars. Every detail is a testimony of the communication between you and the beach.Once the painting is finished, you can choose a decent frame for it. Frame the future oil painting, will be the best memorial to the beautiful time of the seaside sun and moon.

Remember, painting is not only a display of skills, it is also a transmission of emotions and soul. Every swing is an expression of life attitude and world view. Now, start your oil painting journey, and perhaps one day, you will find a peaceful place on the canvas that belongs to your heart.
